My #GratList – Week 2

Post image for My #GratList – Week 2

As I said in my post last week, I’ve started practicing a form of Gratitude Training where on Mondays I’m listing out five things I’m thankful for this week. I must say, I already love it. Here it goes!

1. Great conversation

Because regardless of whether it’s with a friend, family member, love interest or acquaintance, it feels damn good to have an effortless, breezy, witty and thought-provoking chat – even better with some playful banter

2. Scrambled Eggs for Breakfast

Because it’s the perfect way to jumpstart your day, and you can mix in nearly any ingredient and it will still taste ah-mazing! (My grandma hooked me on this when I was really young)

3. Valuing different types of friendships

Because each of them can serve a special purpose in our lives, even if it’s rather small or only for a short period of time

4. Sunshine

Because it literally brightens your day! And during this terrible, terrible winter I almost forgot how wonderful it feels to just have the sun shining :)

5. Diet Mt. Dew

Because nothing is more refreshing than an ice cold Diet Dew (like Will Ferrell as Frank the Tank in Old School says… “… it’s so good, once it hits your lips, its so good!”)

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”     ~Cicero

What’s on your #GratList this week?

Damn, I didn’t make the list. Someday, someday, someday. That is my goal. :)

Good stuff

Hi Sara,
I love the concept of making a lisg of things you are grateful for…such a simple thing to help take us out of our tendency to take things for granted. I’ve been on a kick lately to remind my self daily to live life with gusto. I am always amazed at how it is often when tragedy confronts us that we finally have our aha moment…..our epiphany….that life is short and we should live it fully. I don’t want to wait for a tragedy or an illness etc…..I want to embrace life fully today..now….this very special moment. So here’s to gratitude…..except maybe for the Diet Mountain Dew ;-)
As always….you are a delight to read. Thank you.

Hey Melissa! So happy to connect with you! Bedtime – that’s a good one, although I’m absolutely terrible at it. LOVE your blog, by the way :)

Well that is very true :) And I love how I make your entire family breakfast even when I come to visit them out on the farm! Hahaha

Your list is awesome and soooo you. Kate and I died laughing. I hope you keep contributing each Monday because you’re hilarious (obviously! You’re my best friend!)

Hi Sara, I could agree with all items on your #GratList with one exception … any kind of artificially sweetened so-called “diet” drink. For once, because these substances are used to fatten pigs so why should they make humans slim? And secondly, there’s evidence that some artificial sweeteners, such as the aspartame in this case, may cause cancer and more.

Thanks for sharing your gratitude list Sara – what do you add to your eggs? My son likes when I add cheese:)
I am grateful for a warm bed, melting snow, shoe sales at Dillards, my MacBook Pro and golf in Miami this week for my husband (he is there for work and was able to sneak in an early morning golf game – after this long winter, it will improve his mood:0)
Have a great week!

Ooh, I love this idea.

I’d like to start doing that too.

Where did you find out about it? Can anyone join in?
