About Sara

Hi, I’m Sara. Here’s me in a nutshell:

  • I’m a 24-year-old chick from the Midwest (Iowa, to be exact)
  • I’m 5’2’’ on a good day – which is amazingly still shorter than a parking meter
  • I’m extremely playful and animated – just ask my friends who make fun of me all the time for it (even though they’re all the exact same way)
  • I am wildly passionate and looovve being very involved in a million awesome projects and activities (and have always been this way)
  • I have the most hilarious, genuinely kickass friends and family EVER
  • The only thing on Earth I like about the cold winter here is scarves – and I have a slight obsession with them
  • I LOVE connecting with other marketers, Gen-Y, bloggers, entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives – and sushi, live music and traveling
  • My absolute favorite thing is meeting other ridiculously-passionate people, and cultivating meaningful relationships and sharing ideas with them
  • And when I’m doing something, I give it my all, 100% – go big or go home, right?

My biggest passion is for marketing communications – PR, advertising, social media – ALL OF IT. Love, love, LOVE it. Have you ever found something you knew you were just made to do? A hobby, a job? Well, for me it’s both. Almost immediately after I went to college, I discovered the world of public relations and dove in head first. All of the PRSSA National Conventions, competitions, internships, etc., landed me my fourth internship in the Consumer Department at Weber Shandwick in Minneapolis, a global PR agency. But at the end of my internship and after months of the Minnesota winter beating me down (little did I know the Winter Death Storm of 2009 would happen), I moved back home to the Omaha metro area and got a job at a full-service advertising agency where I handled PR, integrated advertising campaigns, strategic marketing planning and account service for clients in a variety of industries.  Last year I accepted my third job out of college in the corporate marketing world and am loving learning about marketing from a completely new perspective.

About Walk Talk Chew Gum

Walk Talk Chew Gum is a metaphor about wanting to experience and have it all in life – whatever your craziest dreams and aspirations may be. I want to get people talking, sharing what they know, don’t know, asking questions and helping each other find answers. It’s an opportunity for us to all grow and learn from each other. It’s about being completely transparent, vulnerable, and engaging in conversations that can help us create the lives we’ve always envisioned having. I’ll be covering a wide range of topics, but if you have any ideas please contact me and I’d love to chat with you. Thanks for being here – I look forward to meeting you!
